Program description
The Honors Program provides an alternative general education curriculum for
students with strong academic abilities. It includes an integrated set of
courses, many of them interdisciplinary, intended especially for students
who wish to experience an innovative and academically challenging approach
to general education. Students are encouraged to recognize the interrelation
of all knowledge and to develop their own intellectual and creative potential.
Advantages
• Take four credit hours of College Writing (instead of six)
• Receive religion credit for annual Honors Retreat
• Enjoy smaller teacher-student ratio in classes
• Explore more possibilities for pursuing individual interests
• Share classes with similarly motivated students
• Graduate with Honors in General Education
Application Requirements
• You must have a GPA of 3.3 or higher to qualify.
•Write and submit an essay with your Honors
Core application.
Scholarships
As a student with a good GPA and high academic goals, your eligibility for
scholarships is even stronger. AUC awards merit and leadership scholarships
of various amounts to incoming students who qualify. Complete the appropriate
application forms from the Student Financial Services Office. If you are
a National Merit finalist, you are eligible for 100% tuition remission up
to four years, and as a National Merit semifinalist you are eligible for
50% tuition scholarship up to four years.
