Campus Computing

Computer Labs
There are seven computer labs on campus. These labs are available for use by students, faculty and alumni. See our lab locations, schedules, and services.

Campus Network
The campus network connects every major building on campus with fiber optic cable. This network is connected to the Internet by a T1 (1.5 Mbps) connection. Our servers use a variety of network operating systems including Windows 2000 server, Novell NetWare, and Linux. The campus network also has several wireless access points in the dorms and library, so that users with laptops with wireless capability can access the network conveniently.

Network Accounts
Access to any of the workstations on campus requires a network account. Any student with a valid ID card can get a network account by applying at the Academic Computing office (see below). Each account provides a personal e-mail address, personal home page capability, access to academic servers, and limited disk space on these servers. See our network account information and our network policies.
